On 20^th June 2024, the third meeting of the Joint Management Committee of the XJTU-Polimi Joint School took place in the Aula Magna of Politecnico di Milano .

The Committee members discussed and approved important decisions on the future development of the School.

In particular:

1. Shan Zhiwei, XJTU Vice President for International Affairs and Professor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, was appointed as the new Dean of the Joint School
2. It was agreed to apply for a new BSc “Electrical Engineering” at the Chinese Ministry of Education. The proposal prepared by the two universities will be submitted in July
3.  Consistent with the choice to broaden the School’s educational offering and to underline its multidisciplinary character, it was decided to change its name from “XJTU-Polimi Joint School of Design and Innovation” to “XJTU-Polimi Joint School”

For the occasion, the possibility of introducing two additional degree courses began to be explored, with the involvement of the Schools of “Materials Sciences and Engineering” and “Mechanical Engineering” of XJTU.
