2025 3rd International Conference on Green Building, Xi’an

The conference, jointly organized by Xi’an Jiaotong University and Politecnico di Milano, took place in Xi’an, from 25 to 27 April, 2025. Centered around the theme “Drawing a blueprint for low-carbon buildings and building an ecologically livable future”, it brought together over 200 experts and scholars, from 23 countries around the world to draw a new blueprint for the development of green buildings.

Speakers emphasized the pivotal role of green buildings within China’s “dual carbon” strategy, highlighting the importance of advancing green building materials innovation, intelligent construction technology research and development, and establishing a comprehensive carbon management system across the building lifecycle—goals that can be achieved through international collaboration.

The conference featured 12 parallel forums on topics such as climate adaptive design, heritage preservation, and energy storage technology applications.

The next edition of the conference, to be held in 2026 and organized by Chang’an University (Xi’an), will focus on “Zero-Carbon Building Technology Systems and Urban Renewal.”
