Polimi in Xi’an: A Visit to the Rural Cultural Heritage of Yuan Jia Cun

On November 2nd, professors from Politecnico di Milano, teaching at the Joint School in Xi’an, had the opportunity to visit the regenerated Chinese village of Yuan Jia Cun (袁家村). This ancient village, located in Liqian County, about 70 km from Xi’an, is renowned for its cultural roots dating back to the Qing dynasty and is a valuable asset for rural tourism in the area.

Yuan Jia Cun is known not only for its historical heritage but also for its culinary culture, making it an essential destination for visitors. The Polimi professors strolled through the village’s characteristic alleyways, immersing themselves in the unique atmosphere of a regenerated rural Chinese village, and enjoyed the opportunity to taste local specialties (avoiding the most extreme ones!), experiencing an authentic glimpse of Chinese tradition and culture.
