On 24 June 2026, the XJTU-POLIMI Joint School celebrated the graduation of its first class of students in Xi’an.
At the end of a four-year study programme, the students were awarded a degree in Engineering-Industrial Design by Xi’an Jiaotong University and a degree in Ingegneria della Produzione Industriale by Politecnico di Milano.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the history of the Joint School, established in 2022, which currently offers three study programmes and will launch two more from the next academic year.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives of Politecnico di Milano involved in the collaborative project: Sergio Pignari, Flavia Grassi, Venanzio Arquilla, Diego Scaccabarozzi and Fausto Brevi. In their speeches, they emphasised the value of this pioneering educational path, which enabled students to acquire solid theoretical and design skills in a multidisciplinary field, together with an international and intercultural mindset.
The graduates of the Joint School’s first class were encouraged to look to the future with curiosity, responsibility and a spirit of innovation: as professionals capable of building bridges between technology and people, between creativity and innovation, between China and Italy, and between the challenges of the present and the opportunities of the future.
