On 23 March 2026, the 18th event in the “Innovation – Future” academic seminar series, promoted by the XJTU-POLIMI Joint School, took place. Dedicated to Architecture, the seminar brought together faculty from XJTU and the Politecnico di Milano for a discussion on research topics, ongoing projects, and possible future developments.
Participants included Zhu Shanyao, Zhang Yuzhao, Xu Duo, Liu Keju, and PhD candidate Du Chunlei for XJTU; Luigi Spinelli, Gaia Caramellino, Salvatore Viscuso, Marco Cofani, and PhD candidate Marco Patruno for Politecnico di Milano. The seminar was coordinated by Professor Luigi Spinelli.
The discussion focused on key areas within the discipline, including architectural design, urban regeneration, sustainable built environment, architectural technology, and heritage conservation. During the seminar, participants presented their research lines and shared experiences.
The seminar thus confirmed its role as a concrete opportunity for exchange and a further step toward future collaborations in architectural research.
